There are over 300,000 (as reported in January 2013 by Apple) iPad apps to choose from. With a number like that, it is certainly hard to choose what is right for you.

In this article I present a list of the top recommended apps for your iPad. Best of all, these are all free.

In no particular order, here is the list:

1. iBooks

    The iPad app, which is the first official mobile app released by TED, lets viewers browse our almost 800 TEDTalks, running from 3 minutes to 30 minutes long, on a wide range of topics. The app is free and can be downloaded through the App Store in iTunes.
